Snow. Lightining. Rain. Sleet. Fog.

These are a few of my favorite things..... in December! Not April. Happily, according to the news report, Monday will bring sunny and warm weather.

We need the moisture. I will stay inside tomorrow if the weather comes as they are predicting. A foot of snow or more is enough to shut down the city. Hoping that co-op is canceled and that they do not try to have co-op anyway.

We have a new car. A Ford Explorer. I like it. Not a van but definitely a mode of transportation. It's red and seats seven.

Tired.

I finally feel back to my old self. Sadly, I think I'm coming down with a cold. All of my students are back (2 new ones) and it was a very busy and hectic day. I don't think I've thought this much in a long time.

The day is not over sadly. Les is on his way home early today so we can go buy a car. A used car for him. I think we've decided that I would drive the Subaru station wagon until we could afford a new van. I'm not happy about it. Pretty spoiled with my big van. Financially, it makes the most sense for us right now. I would love to go buy a new van with electronic doors, leather seats, sun roof, Sirius radio, DVD players, and heated bucket seats.

At least I have an automobile though right? I think I can learn to drive the Subaru. Much better than walking.....

Waiting.

On my way to get a new title for the van. The one that is demolished. Apparently when you pay off your car at the bank you have to do something with the title at the motor vehicle. Long story short, I have to go back to the DMV this morning. Hating. Hating. Hating to even think about going back. Standing in line, etc. Once we get the title we have to fax it to the insurance so they can cut us a check for a new car. Trying to find a new car with low miles and low dollars- good luck to us.

It's Easter!

A few hours ago the snowflakes were like feathers falling from the sky. I can't remember the last time I saw flakes that big. The fact that it is April only solidifies the fact that spring in the Rockies is anything but predictable. We had planned on driving down to Pueblo to go to my mom's church for service and then out to lunch. With the snow we decided against it.

Jackson has been playing in the snow on an off all afternoon. It's a really wet and heavy snow. The branches are weighted down and look beautiful. It's easy to forget that it's spring. What's that hymn- I will be whiter than snow? Why can't I think of it? It's so fitting that today- there is a blanket of white snow on the ground. A complete covering. "Whiter than snow, Lord, Whiter than snow.... Cleanse me and I will be whiter than snow." Jesus help me to remember that you have paid the ultimate sacrifice. There is nothing left undone in your sacrifice. Help me to embrace it. To accept it. To live a life that recognizes it.

They found the little girl in Califonia

They found her in a suitcase.

Another little girl in Florida remains missing.

Little Caylee Anthony in Florida is dead very likely by the hands of her mother.

Crimes against children are unexplainable and incomprehensible.

Their mom's post is on the side of my blog. I am drawn to their stories but mostly I know my God and know his comfort, his strength, his provision and overwhelming love. Please lift up these families.

God's Provision

Les' new job has okay health insurance. Not as great as where we were before but at least we have some and at least it's affordable. One of the differences is that we have a large deductible and then the insurance pays 100%. For us, that's a great deal because we make at least a couple trips to the hospital for EEG's, etc.
With all the blessing of having insurance the deductible has been tough. Especially because of the prescription costs each month of over 700.00. With the surgery I just had we will have met our deductible and shouldn't have to pay anything else for medical bills. Well, of course, it takes the medical company 2 weeks to process charges. this means we have to pay for another round of medications. Disheartening. However, on the way to Walgreens Les went to the mailbox and there was a check for almost the EXACT amount we were going to have to pay to Walgreens. Coincidence? God's provision yet again.

Snowy Saturday Simple

We were supposed to get a big storm. A blizzard of 2009 in April. The storm either forgot to come or the weather men were a little over optimistic. They weren't all wrong, it is windy and there is a light dusting but a blizzard is pretty much of an overstatement.

It is Saturday. I'm being quite lazy today and trying to be okay with that. My kids are hanging with my mom this weekend so that Les can get the house cleaned and I can rest some more. I'm really hoping Les will get the laundry done and at least the bathrooms. Maybe vacuum....... A girl can dream.

Wishing life could be simpler today. I've never longed to live in the country except the past few months. Away from everyone, everything and all distractions. It would be nice to not have competing priorities. I used to think I'd get bored living way out in the country but now I'm not so sure. Perhaps when my children are older or even away from the nest country life will become more than an idea and even more attractive to me. The trick will be finding a simpler life in the city. Not sure how to make that happen.

On the upswing after surgery

Thankfully! Just one minor problem left- without going into details- let's just say "more raisin bran". Overall this has not been a bad experience. Hoping the next few months I see just how much this was bothering me and I made a right decision.

The kids are all off to co-op today. My mom is taking them so I have a little time to myself. My instinct is to clean the house while they are gone but I'm going to wait a few more days before I get too crazy around here.

Lauren and Emily have been a big help but they are too young to keep on top of things just yet. Perhaps I need to work with them better on how to do chores, etc. I don't want them to think all mom did was make them work around the house. At the same time, they need to have those skills.

Just babbling today. Nothing really to say- so I'll zoom and eat some raisin bran and hopefully have a good rest of the day. :)!
