sgiving Leftovers

Les has been in the kitchen all day cooking an amazing dish with the leftover turkey. So nice to have a man that likes to cook. I've been browsing the internet trying to find information on running a successful tutoring business. I ran across a website by a girl named Kacey. She has a ton of information and has started a networking website for tutors. I swear you can google anything on the internet and find it. Want to know how to remove peanut butter from a wool carpet- google it! Want to know how to move the grass without a lawn mower- google it! Want to know the name of the little doo hicky on the top of a car antenna- google it!

Lauren is trying to finish homework and watch a movie at the same time. Yes, I'm thinking that's not a good idea. It's a movie she has wanted to see for awhile so I'm giving her some grace.

It's still snowing - loving the snow. Of course, I will not love it very much in the morning when I have to shovel the driveway. Good exercise.

We've decided to start a blog.

I've tried to do this before actually. I just never have quite figured it out. Since it's Thanksgiving it would be appropriate to post some Thanksgiving pictures. We had an amazing Thanksgiving for the most part. Missed having a ton of family around and the chaos but it was still nice. We had Turkey, of course, that I brined over night. Then we put it in a 500 degree oven for 30 minutes. The skin was beautifully browned and tasty. However, despite the tastiness I have decided I do not like Turkey. Next year we will do a small turkey and a ham.

Lauren made the pumpkin pie. She's such the pastry chef in our family. Loves to bake and try new things. This year for Christmas she's getting the whole complete season of Ace of Cakes from the Food Network. She's starting her own business next year making cakes for special occasions. She's decided when she grows up she'll be a pastry chef and marine biologist.

Emily and Jackson just enjoyed eating. Here are some pictures of our table setting, turkey and Lauren's pie.
