Shopping is fun but sad at the same time-

I was the lucky recipient of a gift card for Christmas. The family and I decided it was burning a whole in our pockets so we braved the mall today. The mall was actually really crowded. More crowded than it was before Christmas. I guess several people have figured out that you can buy a gift certificate for a Christmas present and then you pass on not only a gift but the gift of shopping- with deals of course!

Jackson is sick right now. Runny nose, fever and a horrible cough. It sounds like a barky wet cough. He was so bad last night that I thought he was going to cough up a lung. In fact he coughed so hard that he threw up. It was not fun. Im hoping he is better tonight.

Emily is going through a hard time right now because we are having to change and mess with the ADD medication. The medicine she was on makes her tremors worse. This medicine does not help with the tremors and is also making her very lethargic. I feel so sorry for her. Les has her out on the town tonight trying to make her feel better.

No church for us tonight. Jackson is still not feeling well and I don't want to spread the germs around town.

Oh- so, my subject line. Why is shopping sad. Well, because really there are a ton of deals and you think- wow! I must have that new sweater. It's on sale! But the truth of the matter is you do not really need a new sweater. But who can pass it up at $3.50. It's just sad to look out at a sea of people buying things because they are on sale. No wonder Salvation Army is such a big business.
